FIRST IN FAMILIES
We provide support to families and individuals based on their unique, self-identified needs. This support can take many forms, such as providing computers, home furnishings or modifications, childcare or respite care, or vehicle repairs. We also help connect individuals to vocational, social, and educational opportunities within their community. Additionally, First In Families (FIF) assists families with connecting sibling caregivers and planning for the future by exploring alternatives to guardianship, special needs trusts, and creating personal support networks.
Instead of offering a fixed list of services, FIF’s approach is to ask questions and listen to what each family needs in order to stay independent and active in their community.
